VICTORIAS FOODS RECIPE : Sardines and Tomato Pizza

When there's pasta, there must also be pizza! Weeks ago we had Sardine Pasta with Sun-dried Tomatoes to satisfy our Italian cravings.


Now, it's another gastronomic re-invention of an Italian classic that will surely make us crave for more.



How about some Sardines and Tomato Pizza made with our favorite Victorias Hot Sardines in Soya Oil?


The thought alone of cheesy pizza topped with Victorias Hot Sardines already makes us salivate more!

Thanks to Chef Tope Arañador, the young and contemporary Ilonggo chef/owner of PUNOT Restaurant, for coming up with this delicous and easy recipe for us to ty at home.


Chef Tope has partnered with VFC increating special recipes for us to have a taste of Negros, right at home.

With this collab, VFC and Chef Tope has created 15 recipes using Victorias Foods signature products - Spanish Style Bangus and Sardines in Soya Oil.


Let's not keep our tummies grumble, it's time to this Victorias Hot Sardines and Tomato Pizza!

Ingredients
  • 2 cans Victorias Hot Sardines in Soya oil, drained
  • 3/4 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 large Tomato, sliced
  • 1 tbsp chopped flat leaf Parsley
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • 3/4 cup ready made Pizza Sauce
  • 1 large White Onion, sliced into rings, adjust
  • Olives (halves)
  • Capers
  • 1 medium-sized Pizza Crust


Procedure

  1. Spread pizza tomato sauce on the pizza crust and then evenly sprinkle over with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  2. Place sliced tomatoes, onion rings, capers and olives.
  3. Arrange Victorias Hot Sardines as the pizza's main toppings.
  4. When done, bake at 375F until crust is golden brown.
  5. Garnish with parsley before serving.
Easy-peasy! You can even make this even with your eyes closed! Now, bring out your favorite pizza condiments - hot sauce and mustard for me!


This recipe shows the versatility of Victorias Hot Sardines, of not being only an "ulam" straight from the can but as delicious ingredient in some of our favorite dishes.
